North West Neurological Commissioning Network

November 19th 2015 Holiday Inn, Haydock

ONH 7578-copy

Neurology Commissioning Networks were launched in June 2015. The network supports commissioning of high quality, outcomes focused value for money Neurology services. We provide networking opportunities for people across six network areas in North East Yorkshire & Humber, West Midlands, London & South East, South West, North West and East Midlands.

We also welcome members from the wider NHS and partners organisations who share our goals. We work collaboratively with Strategic Clinical Networks for Mental Health, Dementia & Neurology in each of our areas, along with neurology clinicians and CCGs. Our events are supported through a non-promotional unrestricted educational grant from Novartis.

The inaugural North West network will be run in conjunction with the SCNs, with a joint programme focusing on Co-ordinating commissioning across NHS England & CCGs, Headache guidance, Epilepsy toolkit and NASH report, and Understand patient pathways & impact of emergency admissions in MS & Parkinson’s Disease.

The aims of the day are to:

  • Generate the interest of GPs and commissioners in improving the primary care management of headache
  • Generate the interest of GPs and commissioners in improving care for people with epilepsy
  • Increase awareness pathway development for services that cross commissioning boundaries
  • Increase awareness of the impact of emergency admissions for people with neurological conditions
